Where are you from and where do you now reside? My family is from Detroit. Its where my mother calls home. Its also where I was born, However from about 5 years old I've traveled the entire planet. I've lived in about 5 countries and about 10 different states. The longest being MD/PA (Stayed on the border), I was there for about 4 years. The most recent being Atlanta, I just moved out here about 4 months back. How did you first become interested in filmmaking?I began my artistic journey as a emcee believe it or not (I still got it too don't sleep lol) from there I started producing records and then hopped into photography. I began filming shortly after. Sometimes the only way you can tell a story is thru movement. Is there a favorite film or filmmaker that inspired you?Estevan Oriol is Dope he's a Photographer, D-Nice is crazy as well. Since I don't have any schooling I'm all about folks who are self educated. Quentin Tarantino is a big influence to me also. He makes movies the way hip hop producers make beats. There is a series titled everything is a remix by Kirby Ferguson that I think everyone should watch. I would say the film that most interested me to pick up a camera would be Akira, Its an anime. (sooo dope). as far as real movies. There are to many. Lets say a combination of Pulp Fiction, X, Enter the Void, The Night Porter, Napoleon dynamite and some Italian black and white soft-core That would be crazy. Where do you find the inspiration for you ideas?I spend alot of time looking at photography, reading philosophy and listening to as much music i can find to get into my "mode". I'm a movie fanatic as well. I like a lot of indie stuff that doesn't get to the big screen. You photo, film, and edit your projects. Do you also write and direct all of your projects? So far yes, I'm a total project type of guy I like to have my hands on everything. What hard lessons have you learned while working in your industry?Keep your business and paperwork tight. Also don't get involved in anything you don't believe in A.K.A. don't shoot anything for money that you wouldn't shoot for free. Never let money be your motivator. (Thats a really hard one sometimes)In your own words describe what it means to be original.Being true and honest to yourself over anything else. What is one of your biggest accomplishments as a film maker? So far my biggest accomplishment is taking my family out and spending a good time with them knowing that it was all possible due to me doing what I love to do. Getting the cover of american veteran was pretty dope also considering I served in the Air Force. My entire creative career has a huge blessing. What's the best thing about being a photographer?Purity, There is nothing like freezing a moment in time that was pure in its own statement. What's the worst thing about being an photographer?CompromiseWhere do you see yourself as a professional in 3 years?I see myself teaching others thru workshops and classes and sharing some of the ideas that I've had in my mind for years with a world audience. What's the next project you're working on?Im getting into some experimental stuff. I'm working on a short film about human interaction and a photography project about the juxtapositions that exist in our daily lives. I am also putting together a documentary on the creative process and starting a Artist Collective / Clothing Line (HOPESxDREAMS) as an outlet for some of the design work that I have hiding in my brain. On top of all that I'm working with a film crew called SuperVillainsINC.Any last words you want to leave with the people?HOPESxDREAMS over everything! What does "Nsyde Out" stand for?Going left when the rest of the world seems to want to go right... I'm all about that."Never Say You Didn't Experience One's Unique Talent"
