communities have a lot to do with art appreciation and education amongst the youth. Through experience I've realized that mentoring and bringing awareness to the arts is very neccessary. There are those that collect original art and understand the value of uniqueness, but there are many more that keep their distance. The reasons vary from being intimidated by something unfamiliar to just not being exposed to it at all. I take pride in encouraging the youth to express their creativity and educating parents on the importance of recognizing their childs' uniqueness.
It is a great feeling to install an original painting in someone's home; but it is a little sweeter when it's their first. Art is very personal and promotes consciousness and balance in ones life. It is important that we continue this movement. It is fascinating to see the appreciation for art grow amongst my generation. We have the ability to educate ourselves and mentor our youth.
